Évangéline

Nova Scotia is haunted by its past—Acadia, established in 1605. Longfellow beautifully describes the beauty of the places that became the "Land of Evangeline," in his tale of lovers separated during the deportation of the Acadians in 1755; one of the most beloved works of Canadian literature. No one can read the history of Grand Pré without wanting to visit Acadia; no one can visit Acadia without being fascinated by its history.
