Translation is a love story

An elderly writer, Mr. Waterman, lives in Quebec City in a tower. His translator, young Marine, is a red-haired, green-eyed Irishwoman; she lives in a cottage on Île d’Orléans, among cats, raccoons, blue herons, and retired racehorses. Between these two characters, an unusual love story unfolds: it begins on the Oregon Trail, grows with their shared passion for the music of words, and reaches its maturity during an investigation into a mysterious teenager who turns their world upside down.
