What is said and happens on a shrink's couch is inaccessible, professional secrecy obliges. But in this first novel by Louis Laliberté, the prohibition is lifted. The reader is invited to enter the office of a young psychotherapist in Quebec City, Dhyâna, around whom gravitate patients with deep neuroses but also figures of balance, like her childhood friend LeeAnn. Dhyâna is torn between her sense of duty and her own difficulty in controlling her emotions, between her rational consciousness and her feelings. Carrying an enigmatic past, she sees her professional objectivity disappear to give way to growing guilt. How can she manage to treat the most complex disorders without succumbing herself? Imago is a powerful novel, where the dynamics of the unconscious brutally collide, and in which mirrors and their reflections are anything but decorative. Louis Laliberté was born in Quebec City. He is particularly interested in psychology and the equestrian world while being passionate about literature. He worked in human resources and public relations, before becoming a yoga teacher and writing this novel that had long inhabited him.
