The Evaporated Woman

"What could possibly make a woman suddenly abandon the one to whom she has just said, "What wonderful moments I spent with you, today again: I want this every day of my life"? This is the question Jenny faces after Ève's departure. Both will learn that "you can experience the same story in two completely different ways." Alternating the points of view of the two women, Fanny Chiarello and Wendy Delorme sensitively and embodyingly explore the possibility of a lasting relationship, the compatibility of seemingly opposing lifestyles, the necessity of confronting the ghosts of the past to make the present possible, while a subtle reflection on the powers and limits of literary creation is sketched out as a counterpoint.
