Jake is 21, but sometimes he feels a hundred. That's what happens when you grow up too fast, in the spotlight. A child prodigy actor, his success is now a thing of the past, and his recent escapades have sent him tumbling from his pedestal back into his childhood bedroom at his parents' house. Jake leads a bleak life: he searches for reasons to keep going, but they are as rare as joy in his sunless days. Émilie is 18 and starting her last year of CEGEP. Ambitious, she dreams of becoming a doctor. However, she has a Grand Canyon-sized void in her heart since her first love left her at the beginning of the summer. But behind this pain lies another, even deeper one: the one created by her father the day he left his family to start a new life. Émilie wants to rebuild herself, but the pieces are small and the puzzle, endless. On the surface, Émilie and Jake have nothing in common, except their gaping wounds and their job at the local pizzeria. And yet, over their evenings of Sprite and chatter, a precious relationship will form between them, filled with the hope that dawn always returns, even after the darkest nights.
